A trip back to where things started.
Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company (CBRC) was established back in January of 2002. The idea behind developing our brand was simple; create high quality coffees and connect them to environmental issues that directly impacts the health of our regional treasure, the Chesapeake Bay.
Delicious specialty coffee and the health of our watershed - what a great combination. We thought that this would be a perfect way to get people more connected to the communities they live, work and play in. More importantly, we thought this would be a great way to raise funding and awareness about the condition of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Which is why we have established the H2O Initiative program.
The H2O Initiative is a community outreach program established by CBRC to advocate our give-back message. Through our H2O Initiative, we are pledging 2% of gross sales on every product we sell to go back in support of community organizations and groups that are helping make a measurable impact to the health of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The H2O Initiative mark will be used in conjunction with all packaging, promotion and sponsorships by CBRC to help raise consumer awareness about our commitment to the bay.
Public awareness of the Chesapeake Bay's condition increases each day and today's generation is taking major steps in the restoration of the bay's ecosystem. Efforts are being made to ensure that our watershed is preserved for our children and future generations. We couldn't take on a name like Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company without also taking on some responsibility.
